Uneventful….

Sunday, May 30, 2004 | 23:12

Today was a very uneventful day… very relaxing… the only thing I did all day today was make a trip to Target to pick up some stuff for my mom, and that was it… the rest of the day was spent catching up on my magazines, some tv shows (not much on these days), and surfing the net. A very good day.

Tomorrow will be slightly more hectic. I have to wash and wax my car, so that means getting up early to do it around 7am before it gets too hot. There is also a baseball game tomorrow and I’m not sure if I work it or not… lol. Hopefully I’ll get in touch with my boss tomorrow to find out!! :) If I don’t work it, then maybe I’ll go to it… of course, who wants to go and watch their team lose? Can the Diamondbacks play any worse than they are now???? Geeze!!

Or maybe I’ll do a movie… there are still a few out there I have yet to see…

Some things…

Saturday, May 29, 2004 | 20:29

It’s been a few days since I last posted… actually 3 days to be exact… here’s what’s happened….

Wednesday - Went to the second ever performance of The Lord of the Rings Symphony in North America. It was performed by the Phoenix Symphony and it was GREAT! I would highly recommend going to see this if your local symphony performs it. It’s definitely a must for any fan of the films!

Thursday - Helped my friend finish packing up her stuff and all the fun crap that goes along with moving… and said goodbye… how sad. we won’t be seeing each other until December at the earliest…. but I have something to look forward to, right?? (and by then she’ll have a child, so it’ll definitely be different)

Friday - Worked my ass off at work, trying to stave off the possibility of having to work on Saturday. This major project is a HUGE pain in my ass and I now officially hate HP. Also! Saw The Day After Tomorrow and I was pleasantly surprised. I tried not to get my hopes up too high for this movie. I was relieved when it actually out performed my expectations, an excellent follow up to the official summer movie season started last week by Shrek 2 (which IS a must see if you haven’t yet!! Multiple viewings are in order!) Next week Harry Potter! A guaranteed to please movie!

Saturday (today) - Unable to finish the project to the point we wanted, I had to go to work today. Ugh, a horrible start to a holiday weekend… my 3 day weekend has been shaved down to 2 days… thanks to HP (the bastards!). Anyway, got a ton done today, even though half the team left early. Got in a 8am, was supposed to leave at 12 (half the team did), but actually worked until 3.30… so 6.5 hours of work on a official weekend day… not fun!

All is well now, I’m at home, using the net, listening to my music… actually, I think I’ll watch some of the Smallville’s my sister brought over… never really got into that show, but her roommate is addicted and has purchased the first season on DVD and will be getting the second soon… so why not watch when you don’t have to worry about those damn commercials??

Ok, that’s enough for now. Time to get on to other things. I hope to keep up my routine of writing once a day… we’ll see.

Movies… Thank God It’s The Summer Season!!

Tuesday, May 25, 2004 | 21:45

Ok, so I’ve mentioned Harry Potter and The Day After Tomorrow as movies that are coming up soon that I’m psyched to see… here are the others that are coming up this summer that I have to mention… yes, I will be see every last one of these in the theater.

The Village
Love Me If You Dare
King Arthur
Spider-Man 2 (sucky title, can we try to be more creative.)
The Terminal
Dodgeball
The Chronicles of Riddick
The Bourne Supremacy (see, unique titles of sequals can be done!)
Catwoman
I,Robot
The Manchurian Cadidate

All of these come out in June or July… August sucks as a movie month this year, but I guess they all can’t be good.

Anyway, trailers are out for all of these movies. I highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t seen them yet. http://www.apple.com/trailers/

Ok, TV time and then bed! Yes, Monday was an indicator of how this week of work is going to go… ugh…

Two last things….

Fantasia Rocks and GO FLAMES GO!

Two Weekends…

Monday, May 24, 2004 | 21:33

These 2 upcoming weekends are going to be great! Two of my most anticipated movies of this summer will be coming out. The Day After Tomorrow starts on Friday… now, I’m not 100% sure on this one, it may really turn out to be a huge disappointment, but I’m going to remain positive.

Second! Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban! The UK site has a completely different trailer than we get here in the states, and I believe it’s a much better trailer! Here’s the link. http://harrypotter.warnerbros.co.uk/web/hogwarts/dailyprophet/media_archive.jsp It makes me wish the movie was out now!!

And finally, I have to vent about work today… well, actually I will abstain… let me just say that let’s hope this day was not an indicator of what this week will be like!! Whew!

Airlines piss me off…

Sunday, May 23, 2004 | 20:23

Everyone says you should buy early to get the best prices on airfare… well, that’s what I did, and now there is a cheaper flight available, just 2 weeks from my travel date. That’s not the worst of it… the worst is that the flights are at better times… I get to my destination earlier and I get back home at a decent time (my current flight has me arriving home at 1 AM). Not really bummed about the price difference… $35 isn’t much of a savings… but the times are killers… oh well.. nothing I can do about it now, but it really pisses me off. Of course, I think I would be way to paranoid to wait too long to buy a ticket. Knowing my luck, if I put off ticket buying on my next trip, I’ll get stuck having to buy a ticket that is extremely overpriced.

What else do I have to say… not much. It seems that I do a lot of venting on my journal page… but that’s ok, right?

Also, today was the day that I was going to pickup all the crap in my bedroom… let’s just say that it’s half done. Basically I got distracted by some of the stuff I found and now i’m not in the mood to clean anymore. :o)

OK! Time for TV… (imagine that!).

P.S. Fantasia is the next American Idol, I can feel it!! (*fingers crossed*)

It’s Saturday Night… 9 PM…

Saturday, May 22, 2004 | 21:18

So why am I at home and posting to my journal?? Oh yeah, that’s right… still a bit under the weather… Oh wait, would I still be at home even if I wasn’t sick… yeah, probably. It’s very sad. I have too many friends that are still at University (a year behind me) or have just plain moved out of this place called Phoenix. Hmmmm… how lonely it is here… and I never realized how hard it was to meet people once you get out of school… wow, this post is bumming me out. I need to find some more friends, but how exactly do you go about doing that? hmmmm…

Ok, that’s about all for this post. Here’s my running tally (starting today) of Saturday night’s that I’m at home… (1)

Oh and it’ll definitely get worse before it gets better… remember how i mentioned that my best friend is moving to Seattle? Six days and counting… :(

Two things…

Friday, May 21, 2004 | 22:04

First, I saw Shrek 2 yesterday. I highly recommend you see this movie. I’m not sure I can say it was better than the first one. They are completely different types of movies. Anyway, you can definitely be assured of a good time when you go and see it. That should be enough of an incentive to get out and see it.

Second, well… i seriously had something to say here, but i’ve been distracted by the phone…. so now i forget. :( oh well. I guess it wasn’t that important.

Anyway, another week of work gone, whew! This past week was a real pain, but I survived and I have 2 glorious days off… thank god for weekends!!

Troy… a movie…

Tuesday, May 18, 2004 | 22:08

Was anyone else disappointed with this movie as I was? I mean, it was good… and yes, I’d see it again, like in 2 years or so… but i thought it would have been a bit better… i don’t know… it seemed that it was really, really, really slow and kinda corny in some parts… anyway, not what i expected, but I could recommend that you see it in the theater… Oh yeah, one last thing… too much of naked Brad Pitt in this movie… yikes! Definitely wasn’t expecting that!

Friends and things…

| 21:57

Ok, so don’t you hate it when you’re mad at someone but before you can tell them so they tell you something that would make you look like a jerk if you were mad at them at that moment???

So, I went to Troy today after work with my best friend. She’s the kind of person who hates it when you’re late but it’s ok if she shows up late… that sort of thing, so it’s sort of expected that she will not show up when she says if we’re not driving someplace together. Anyway, the movie started at 5.30 and she was a no show until 5.50… really pissed me off since i drove from extreme north scottsdale all the way to downtown phoenix in about 40 mins and was at the theater at 5pm as it was agreed. Anyway, so i was mad about that and I figured I would say something about it… but before I could do so, she throws out the information that Microsoft has finally got all their shit together and she’ll be moving to Seattle a week from Friday! Holy crap! I swear, i knew it was going to happen, but I figured it’d be the middle of June or something, at least. Never expected it so soon! So yeah, couldn’t so much mention the whole late issue (mostly because I forgot about it!). Oh well, I guess there is no amount of preparation you can have for a friend moving away… makes me very sad… oh well… just means i’ll have to plan many vacations to the Seattle area.

A few more closing notes… Randy Johnson pitched a perfect game tonight (SWEET!) Maybe this will get the team fired up?? Who knows, because we were just swept by the damn Expos! And it’s FREAKING HOT here, way to early in the summer for 101+ temps! AHHH! Ok, that’s all for now… still fighting this cold, so staying up is not conducive to getting better.

We’re such an advanced society yet…

Monday, May 17, 2004 | 17:56

WE CAN’T COME UP WITH A CURE FOR THE COMMON COLD! AHHHH! Yes, that’s what I have and I feel like shit and the only reason I’m on the computer is to let everyone know and to check my email… going to go crawl in bed now… thanks for listening.
