Picking your “current mood” is hard…

Sunday, October 17, 2004 | 21:14

First! 5 STARS FOR TEAM AMERICA - WORLD POLICE. You have to see this movie. It’s fucking hilarious!!!

Second, Works sucks real bad and I need a vacation right this moment!!

Damn! It’s hard to write a journal post when you’re chatting to 5 people at the same time! Oh well.

House hunting sucks, the market is crap. I’m about to give up for a bit. I’m just going to have my agent look for things that come on the market that I may be interested in… then she can just let me know. Seems to be the smart thing to do instead of hunting high and low for something that’s just acceptable. I saw some houses the other day that I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting a dog live in…ugh! Nasty. Why would anyone in their right mind what to spend 130K of their hard earned cash on that shit is beyond my comprehension.

Anyway, British Airways felt like tempting me again… $188 round trip from Phoenix. I figure the song below is appropriate for this post. Anyway, it makes me mad because I don’t really have the cash to go, nor do I know anyone who has the cash that could go with me… not like I wouldn’t have a good time by myself, but things are more fun with friends… you know how it is.

About 2 weeks until Torino 2006 tickets go on sale. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can get them over the net instead of having to go through some damn tour group here in the states. I have 2 contacts at work that have family that live in Europe, so that’s always a possibility.. now I just have to ask myself who I trust more….

OK, back to my friends who i’ve been ignoring on IM for the past 6 minutes. I went to the State Fair this weekend and it was awesome! I’ll see if I can pull some pics together to post… of course, if you would like some, you just have to email. Later!

Keane - Have you heard them?

Tuesday, October 12, 2004 | 22:17

I highly recommend you buy this CD. If you’re in the US, you can get it for only $8.99 at Target. Thank God for their emerging artists section!!

Anyway, work has sucked the past few days. It’s gotten extremely monotonous. I think it is time for a vacation, but I have no cash! On top of being burned out at work, I am dealing with this whole home buying thing. It’s really not fun. It also makes you sad when you actually realize what it is you can afford in a home. Let me just say that it’s not much if I want to be close to work… there are so many fucking decisions you have to make when thinking of purchasing a home. I also feel bad for taking up the real estate agents time if I don’t end up getting a home before the new year. Oh well, we’ll see how it goes. I’ll definitely post updates.

Anyway, I’m half tempted to call in “sick” tomorrow like so many people are at work this week… we’ll see (another disadvantage to living at home, you really can’t call in sick whenever you want… you have to deal with the parental guilt… ugh).

Time for a TV show before bed.

The Long Awaited Update!!

Sunday, October 3, 2004 | 22:09

Ok everyone, it’s finally here!

Here’s the update of what’s been going on over the past 2 weeks…

Saturday 9/25 - After the night before, I’m surprised we got this guy to come out with us once again. Another broadening of his horizons… introducing the Karaoke bar. I myself am not a fan of the Karaoke bar, but hey, if you’re drunk enough, does it even really matter?? Anyway, it was all great fun. Closing down a place is never a disappointment. One interesting point, this one guy that was in the group that night that I had never met before is a foster dad. How cool is that? Being a 26 year old foster father of 3 boys under the age of 10 can’t be easy. Anyway, I thought it was cool and deserved a mention. BTW, for those of you wondering, when our group goes to the Karaoke bar, we do not sing singly (is that even a word?), it’s always a group effort.

The week sucked then, because I got sick at that damn Karaoke bar… I guess sharing a mic with 30 other people isn’t the healthiest thing to do??

Thursday of this week though was kinda cool. This guy from work decided to throw a meatloaf and debate party. So we had meatloaf and watched the pres debate on tv. Different, but cool. BTW, there were no democrats at our party… go figure?

This weekend, having not yet fully recovered from the previous week of being sick, I stayed home on Friday night. I called in sick to the ballpark and just chilled and caught up on all my tv shows. Saturday was different though. It’s Oktoberfest, you can’t not go out and drink beer!! So that’s what we did. I called in ’sick’ to work at the ballpark again and went on down. Just a note, riding the Zipper and the Gravitron after 5 beers may sound like a bad idea, but if you can hold your liquor, it’s great fun! And then, it was back to Karaoke… yup, it’s a Saturday night staple. It wasn’t as good as last time though. It was more crowded and we only got to sing 2 songs total, oh well! Of course, all that beer before and all the beer during and the few shots inbetween the beer put me right out of commission… we had a DD that wasn’t so good at the not drinking part, so we had to sober up at this person’s apartment before heading back to Scottsdale where I had left my car at someone else’s apartment. Then there was about another hour i spent at that apartment making sure that I was going to be good to drive. Needless to say, I got home and into bed at about 4am. And I had to get up and ready to go to the ballpark by 11am the next day. Good times! It’s been a crazy last two weeks.

Anyway, upcoming for this week is home searching and all that fun stuff. I have to get on the ball, I’m not really in a rush or anything, but if I find something I like, I may just have to pick it up!

That’s all for this update. I’m going to try to do them more often so these are so monsterous in size and don’t take up so much of my time.
