TV TV TV!

Saturday, September 30, 2006 | 11:54

Ok, I’ve successfully made it through the busiest of the premiere weeks. Here are my thoughts on TV so far…

You have to see this show! It’s great. Many critics love this show but some are worried that it may be too “real world” for it to be successful. I’m hoping that it doesn’t get canceled before we find out what’s really going on.

The Office is back and just as good. I recommend you watch this show every week. There are so many parts of this 30 min show that will have you laughing to the point you almost wet yourself. I highly recommend it!

Supernatural is back on the CW. Thank goodness they kept it from the WB. If you have not caught this show, I highly recommend you try to catch next week’s episode. If you like the supernatural type TV shows that deal with demons, urban myths, and the like, you’ll love this show. To be honest, sometimes this show freaks me out… hahaha. It’s great, watch it!

No images for the next two shows that I recommend you view.

Ugly Betty - WOW, I thought all the critics must have lost their minds talking so highly about this show but I was proved wrong on Thursday. This show is excellent! Funny as well as heartfelt. The main character is great and the actress that plays her is fantastic. Catch it next week and see the current episode on ABC.com (not sure if that works for you Canadians or not).

Grey’s Anatomy - I realize this show is in its 3rd season, but I have never really been one to watch it. Well, that has all changed! Pairing last years season finale with what’s going on this season… yeah, I’m officially addicted!

Ok, that’s all the updates for now. Oh, you should check out this web page. It lists the best and worst actors for HDTV. Basically, who looks best on HD vs who looks horrific!

Ratings…

Wednesday, September 27, 2006 | 9:22

First, let me say that “Happy Hour” was cancelled by FOX. No surprise, that show was dumb.

Second, here are the ratings for Tuesday night. (every tenth in the ratings = 100,000 viewers)

8pm hour -
Dancing with the Stars (first hour): 10.9 rating
NICS: 8.7 rating
House: 8.6 rating

9pm hour -
Dancing (last half hour): 13.5 rating
Help Me Help You (after dancing): 8.0 rating
The Unit: 7.7 rating
Law & Order: CI: 7.1 rating
Standoff: 5.0 rating

10pm hour -
Law & Order: SVU: 9.8 rating
Boston Legal: 6.6 rating
Smith: 6.4 rating

Dancing with the Stars is helping to keep ABC on top of the ratings on Tuesday nights. Overall, the networks stack up as follows: CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC. NBC is desperatly trying to break out of last place which they’ve been in ever since “Friends” went off the air. ABC has consistantly won the 18 to 49 demo which is the most coveted demo of them all. The rankings I listed were from the official ‘premiere week’ of the fall season that was last week. These numbers may change as shows get deeper into the season and as shows get cancelled.

I’m posting the ratings so you guys get an idea of how well shows are doing. I will try to keep you updated on the shows that get cancelled. I will only post the ratings when I think there are interesting things to report.

You Asked For It!

Monday, September 25, 2006 | 16:27

OK, so here’s a list of the shows I watch on a weekly basis. Granted, not all of these shows have started yet, but they will soon enough. Be prepared to be shocked!!

Monday - Wife Swap, Studio 60, Heroes, What About Brian

Tuesday - Criminal Intent, Help Me Help You, Friday Night Lights, Nip/Tuck

Wednesday - The Biggest Loser, Jericho, Lost, The Nine, 30 Rock

Thursday - The Office, Six Degrees, ER, Survivor, CSI, Greys Anatomy, Smallville, Supernatural, The Big Day

Friday - Nanny 911, Las Vegas

Saturday - Catch up on all my SHOWS!

Sunday - American Dad, Family Guy, The Amazing Race, Extreme Home Makeover

This list does not include all the other shows that I record just to have in case I don’t have any recorded shows to watch.

Ok, go ahead, add up the number of hours that is… ugh, I think I have a problem.

Television!

Thursday, September 21, 2006 | 15:44

Ok, so I watched a few shows this week… well, more than a few. This was basically premiere week for most of the networks. So here’s a short rundown.

Sunday -

  • The Amazing Race 10 - this season looks to be much more physically challenging than any of the previous seasons. Can’t wait to see more.

Monday -

  • Wife Swap - Same old, same old, but still good!
  • Studio 60 - Eh, it has potential, but I still have it on my 3 episode requirement. If I can’t get into it by the 3rd episode, it’s all over.

Tuesday -

  • Law & Order: Criminal Intent - Excellent as ever!

Wednesday -

  • The Biggest Loser - Of course, same as last year and still great
  • Jericho - Wow, this show is great! No need for the 3 episode requirement on this show! I already love it.

Thursday -

  • The Office - My most look forward to premiere!
  • ER - I think this season is going to be better than last.
  • Six Degrees - Haven’t watched it yet, but it looks interesting. An update about it later.
  • Grey’s Anatomy - I have never really gotten into this show. I watched a few episodes from last season and it looks interesting. I’m going to give it a try.

Ok, that’s it for now. I’ll update todays viewings in my next post. Until then, later people!

Kid thinks he’s falling from ride. Stepmom is laughing hysterically!

Kid thinks he's falling from ride. Stepmom is laughing hysterically!
This poor kid thinks he’s falling out of an amusement park ride, although he actually is strapped in tight. This is a very rare real combination of horror and laughter captured within the same sequence.

TiVo

| 11:16

For those of you who live in Canada and want TiVo, you can now get it. TiVo service is available in Canada. You can’t buy a TiVo in Canada though. You’ll have to go to the States to buy one or get someone who lives in the States to buy one for you and ship it. *wink* *wink*

TiVo is $16.95USD/mo and you can get the TiVo box free (80 hour capacity).

YAY FOR TIVO!

Changes…

Friday, September 15, 2006 | 1:36

Isn’t it strange how sometimes things just hit you like a ton of bricks? I guess life does that to you every once in a while.

Now, we all know that people move on with their lives. Sometimes this means that they have to move away. I guess the only thing we can hope for is to remain in contact with these people. I’m not sure why I’m feeling this way about the recent news of someone moving away. I’m not sure why it’s affecting me the way it is. I can’t say that we were ever really close friends. I mean, we had some good times together but we always seemed to be distant friends even though we were in the same city. I don’t know. Maybe this isn’t making any sense. All I know is that I have only one last chance to catch this person and I think I really have to go.

Fuck.

Nintendo Wii

Thursday, September 14, 2006 | 11:39

Hey everyone! Nintendo Wii will be released on 11/19 for $250! See image of packaging below.

Can’t wait for it to be released. Looks like it’ll come with Wii Games which is a huge plus. That means, once you buy the console, you don’t need to worry about shelling out more $$ for a game to play on it right away. Wii comes with downloadable classic games, which is another huge plus. Sony wants you to spend $600 on a PS3. I say, buy a Wii and an XBox 360 and save yourself $50! hahaha! Stupid Sony.
