A Friend in Need…
Dec 27th
I talk about my friends here every once in a while. Most of the time, it’s a vent about something dumb they’ve done and how I got stupidly sucked into their drama. This is another one of those types of posts, in a way.
I have this friend (Sylvia) who has been having the crappiest luck with guys. I’m not sure if it’s because she’s got too high of expectations or if it’s just her dumb luck. In all honesty, it seems to be a combination of both. She wants a stable, mature man that has all his shit together. Sounds like good criterion. Problem is, she only seems to find this in “older” men. Not a bad thing, really. These “older” men she finds are the type that are old on the outside. They have not progressed very far socially. It’s really kind of crappy and I feel bad for her.
Anyway, she had a shitty day after Christmas where presents were given and then taken away mere hours later. She was at home all day today alone. I decided to go over and keep her company. I brought dinner that was so generously made for me the night before by Mike (leftovers were killer). She drank wine and vented. It was good.
As Lucy’s sign would read, “The Doctor is IN.”
This Christmas…
Dec 25th
I’m not going to lie, this is probably one of the most difficult holidays to celebrate after losing someone that you love. Thanksgiving was a nice dress rehearsal and I survived that pretty well. Let’s just say that today hasn’t been the easiest of days. I’ve held up pretty well and I think most of that can be attributed to my family. I cherish every moment I have with them and focusing on how lucky I truly am definitely helps.
Anyway, I don’t really want to be all depressing given that it’s Christmas, so I’ll end this post now. Interestingly enough, the song below popped up while I was writing this post and I haven’t heard it since July (according to iTunes). Strange how things like that just happen. An interesting final note, I never was much of a hugger. That’s completely changed over the last few months. hmm.

The music video for the song I was listening to when writing my most recent entry.
It’s Going to be a Cold Christmas
Dec 24th
Here I am, in my house in Phoenix, AZ. I probably can’t complain too much given we don’t have 10 feet of snow on the ground but it still gets cold in the desert. This normally wouldn’t be an issue, except my heater decided to poop out this morning.
I was awakened by a cool breeze on my face this morning which was not very refreshing. I spoke with the heater people and they said they could only get me on an “open appointment” time for someone to come and look at my heater. This means that they could show up at any time between 8am and 8pm. Great. I had to go into work this morning for a bit so I called my sister. She’s so great. I actually woke her up with my call and she still agreed to come down and wait at my house until I could get back from the office. Lucky for me she did. The repair guy showed up at 10am and proceeded to look things over. Turns out I need a part that they don’t keep stocked and, due to the holiday tomorrow, won’t be able to get one in until Wednesday. No heat for me for at least the next 48 hours. This will be fun. :(
In other news, I have rediscovered Matt Costa in my iTunes library. I just found out from my friend Jenie at work that he’ll be in Tempe in January. I’m considering attending that event, we’ll see.

A Farewell
Dec 20th
Tonight was the goodbye party for my boss.
Let me just say it was very interesting. The festivities started off early at about 4pm today. We went to Margaritaville for some good times. The evening consisted of beer, tequila, balloon animals, and plenty of jokes.
I really will miss my boss. He’s super cool and chill about everything. I’m really kind of scared about who may be replacing him. Life at work will be interesting over the next few weeks. I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.
From My Phone
Dec 19th
I’m sitting at work semi bored and I wanted to blog. This means I have to do it from my phone. This means the post will be short. It’s so tedious.
Anyway, short update. Work is boring and slow at the moment. Hopefully things will pick up soon.
I had an awesome weekend with my cousin. I do miss him when he’s so far away. That’ll be even worse in the new year with him studying abroad in Melbourne and not returning until July. I’m so glad IM exists.
In other news, I had one of the best evenings out in a long time last night. It’s put me in a great mood on this normal Wednesday. Hmm… I am happy.
Well, my fingers hate me now. It’s time for lunch anyway. More soon.
An Expensive Sunday
Dec 16th
Wow, so today was expensive! I knew it was going to be but I had no idea that I would return home with 4 new pairs of shoes. DSW is dangerous and should not be visited by two people who have problems saying NO to new shoes of any sort. I bought 2 Pumas, 1 Diesel, and 1 pair of Converse (which I heart). I may have to post some pics of the Converse. We’ll see…
Tomorrow is another week of work, should be quite interesting. My boss’ last week with us and I’m just praying he’s not crazy. We have a going away deal for him on Thursday so that will be interesting. Family will be around on Friday, so who knows what may go down that evening. I’m just hoping that everyone at work is on vacation and I can have short days. That’s my real Christmas wish! :)
See, I am doing better on the posting… we’ll see if it continues.
My Weekly Update??
Dec 16th
Why can’t I remember to blog more often? I’m kind of lazy about it. I’ve tried to make more of an effort. I think I’m worried that I won’t have anything interesting to say. Is it actually necessary to have something interesting to say on a personal blog site?
Ok, so here’s what’s up recently. This week of work was kind of hellish, many things happened. My boss put in his 2 weeks notice, totally unexpected. I had lots of small issues that came up during the week. It was kind of annoying and it made the week go by sort of slowly. Oh well, it’s over now and this upcoming week will probably be good. There will be a lot of people on vacation which means my life will be a bit less hectic. We have a going away event for my boss on Thursday, which should be interesting.
I’ve found myself watching less and less TV recently. I’m not sure why that is. Maybe it’s because most of the shows I watch are going into reruns for who knows how long. I’m also finding myself spending more time reading and doing things around the house that I would normally put off until the weekend. It’s a good thing, right?
This weekend, my cousin is in town. We’re doing the hang out thing and some shopping. A pretty relaxing weekend actually. It’s interesting how much you can miss talking and visiting with someone. I’ve been reflecting on that more recently. Maybe it has to do with the time of year? Everything that’s been going on the past few months of this year has definitely had an impact on me. I’ve started learning more about who Daniel is.
Ok, we’re done with all this. I will try, I swear, to be more of a constant blogger. Check out my picture blog though, it’s update more often and, like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
