Word on the street is the WGA strike may be over by the end of the week. This is good news for two reasons.
Reason 1: The Oscars may actually have writers and movie stars, which will make them 10x more interesting to watch.
Reason 2: We could possibly get a full season of LOST. (fingers crossed)
In Big Brother news – Big Brother 9 begins on 2/12. Seriously, I cannot wait. We have no idea on the cast at this time, but the overall theme of this season is going to be “Dirty Little Secrets.” Sounds like a winner to me.
In other Big Brother news – Big Brother 10 is slated for a July start, which means we’ll have to only wait 1 month between BB9 and BB10. CBS, you are going to spoil me!
Here’s a photo from my small balcony looking west. The clouds caught the fading sunlight in just the perfect way.

The following links will take you to two sites.
The first is the Wikipedia entry for the Akaka Bill currently in the U.S. Congress. Read up on what exactly this bill will do and you can’t possibly tell me that it would pass any sort of Constitutional test.
The second site (zeroshibai.com) touts itself as “The Voice of the Silent Majority”. The site is an interesting read. Granted, I don’t live in Hawai’i nor am I Hawaiian, but I still find this fascinating. How is this controversy not making more headlines here on the mainland? I guess we have to wait until crazy shit goes down before we’ll hear anything about it. Check the awesome cartoon they created. Let’s just say it created quite a stir in Hawai’i and with the OHA.

The linked story below is just another reason why I dislike the Arizona Republic. The story only shows one side of the issue and treats Global Warming as fact. The piece is titled “Climate-change Realities Could Ruin Water Planning”, which caught my interest. Too bad it’s a worthless read. Anyway, feel free to read it here. That is, if you can get past the first paragraph:
Human-caused climate change could undermine a century of building dams, canals and reservoirs across the West as warmer temperatures alter the way water flows through the dry country, scientists say.
