Travel for Work

Looks like I’ll be traveling for work (for real this time) during the first full week of April.  I get to visit the great city of St. Louis for a full 24 hours!  How lucky am I!?  Seriously, I fly in on Tuesday night and leave Wednesday afternoon.  Gotta love the travel schedules companies plan for their employees.  I can’t really complain though, at least I get to go.  I’m kind of bummed that there won’t be a home baseball game that week, that would have been great to see since the Cardinals have a new stadium.  Maybe next time I will luck out.

I’m kind of looking forward to the trip because we’re having some major issues with this customer’s receivables and most of it has to do with the specific EDI requirements they’ve recently implemented.  Now, we didn’t do the implementation wrong, but they did give us some new requirements for supplemental invoices that just don’t seem to be going through smoothly.  This conference we’re attending will hopefully answer many questions.

April is a busy month for me full of baseball games, concerts, and my upcoming trip to Ireland.  It’ll be May before I know it!

On My 27th

Just a quick second post today.  I’m getting ready to head over to my Mom’s house for traditional Easter Dinner with the family.  It’s kind of convenient that it falls on my birthday this year. What have I done today? Not much.  Did a little bit of housework but I mostly just lounged around.  That’s my type of birthday.  My mom has given up on figuring out what to buy me (she gave up many years ago) so I know I’ll be getting a check in a card today.  :)  Now I have the hard decision on what to buy myself with that $$.  Any ideas?

I received some very nice and thoughtful items from Mike yesterday.  Some of them are going to help me to become more organized in the home office/desk area, which is really needed.  I’m going to see if I can get it all under control before next weekend.  Fingers crossed, it’s going to be a big job.   Maybe I’ll take some before and after shots and put them up here for all to judge (just don’t be too harsh).

Taste the Chocolate Rainbow!

Chocolate Skittles

I went to KMart today while the people at Discount Tire replaced my flat. First, yikes… I mean, really yikes! I now know why I don’t shop there! [Mike] said it was just a small step above Big Lots and I have to agree.

Anyway, I was browsing the candy aisle and I see this brown bag next to the normal red bag of skittles. It caught my eye and some further investigation was needed. It turns out that Skittles now makes a chocolate mix. What?! Really!? I was so intrigued that I had to buy the bag. Now, I was unable to eat any on Friday given that I gave up Skittles for Lent (not religious, just as an office bet). It was kind of difficult to resist opening the bag and tasting this new concoction. Well, today is Saturday and I was able to finally open the bag. First, let me say that they really catch you off guard. I don’t know what I was expecting… maybe something like M&M’s?? Well, they are the consistency of Skittles and all have a different chocolate taste…. well… except for the vanilla flavor they decided to add.

S’mores, Vanilla, Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Pudding, and Brownie Batter. My favorite?? Brownie Batter.

Should the Chocolate Rainbow stick around? I say no. It doesn’t really fit in with the Skittles brand, in my opinion. If you get to try this new mix, let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Smart Car

So, have you seen any of the 2000 smart cars that have been delivered so far driving around town? Here’s how much I would spend on either of the two that I would seriously think about purchasing.

Fortwo Passion Coupe
Passion Coupe

Fortwo Passion Cabriolet
Cabriolet

Maybe some day? I just paid off my Mazda3 and I’m enjoying the “no car payment” feel. I’m not looking forward to upgrading anytime soon (can you even consider this an upgrade?). Would any of you seriously consider purchasing one of these small cars? They only get 36 MPG in mixed usage driving. Not stellar.

DigsbyOk, so Digby has come out of private beta and has added a pretty nifty collection of new features.

Jenie’s Spring Gifts

Chicks

My work friend Jenie bought everyone at work “spring gifts” and passed them out on Monday.

She went to Cost Plus and bought the pipe cleaner chicks above and gave them to people at work. Kind of pointless but really kind of cute. I kind of like them. These two are sitting on my computer looking at my while I work. One looks kind of creepy… hmmm.
