A Challenging Past Few Days

These past few days have been challenging. A new puppy is a lot of work and, as I have found, can be very trying at times. I’ve found myself taking out my frustrations on other people (sorry Mike!!!).

Some people say that getting a new puppy is like getting kid. When things are going well, things are awesome! When things are going bad, they can be really, really bad.

Anyway, I’m going to try and relax. I’m going to try to not take everything so seriously. I’m going to try and go with the flow. I will enjoy my new dog and the new adventures that I am bound to have with her.

Anyone out there that’s gone through the same thing? Tips??

New Podcast Feature

With the recent update to the iPhone software, the way podcasts are listed changed. Instead of showing the newest to oldest, we now get them as oldest to newest. Why is this such a good thing? Well, when you’re behind in your podcast listening (like me) you can select the oldest in the list and the rest will play in succession. I used to have to go back into the iPod application and choose the next oldest program when they were sorted newest to oldest. This makes things much more simple, IMO.

Did anyone else notice this change or is everyone always up to date on their podcast listening?

X Factor 2008

The winner of X-Factor 2008 is Alexandra Burke.  Below is the official music video of her first single Leonard Cohen’s ”Hallelujah”.  Enjoy!  If the video below is removed, you can find it here.

12 of 12 – December 2008

What is 12 of 12?

Okay, I must admit that I forgot all about the 12th and, when I did remember, I didn’t have my camera with me.  So, here are some photos from the 12th from my iPhone and a couple from my camera when I got home.  It’s going to be a 6 of 12 this month!  Enjoy!

Once I realized it was the 12th, I had to take a picture of something… my can of diet coke.

I didn’t know what else to take a photograph of, so here’s my too full work inbox.

This sign is still in the bathroom… actually, there are two there now!

I had a work Happy Hour event.  When I got back to my car, it was all alone in the parking structure.

Not sure if you knew this but the moon was it’s closest and brightest this night. You’ll have to wait another 15 years before it’ll occur again.

I decided to try and finish Ratatoullie on Netflix streaming.  Didn’t happen.  Too tired.

Well, there you have it.  Kind of pathetic this month.  I am going to try much harder in January.  I promise!

New Downtown Eatery

Mike and I recently went to Hanny’s in downtown Phoenix for dinner before a show. I was very excited to try this place. I had been intrigued by this restaurant since I first heard that the old Hanny’s department store was going to be converted.

Likes: The atmosphere. The space itself (the items they restored and incorporated into the new space). The bathrooms.

Dislikes: The service. The service. The service.

I have to cut Hanny’s some slack. They are still in the soft opening phase but the level of service was really lacking! It took forever for our food to come and, when it did, half the order was wrong.

Will I go back? Yes. I may make a visit before the new year. When I do, I’ll be sure to write an updated review.

If you’re in the area, give it a try. If you’ve tried it, how’d you find the place?

Unique Wi-Fi Name

On Wednesday night my friend Erin and I went to Kobalt (gay bar) here in Phoenix. While I was using my phone, I was alerted to the fact that a Wi-Fi network was available. Take a look at the screen shot below for the unique name they chose.

Milk Weekend #2

For the second week in a row, Milk made over a million dollars at the box office. The first weekend, the film was at 36 screens and pulled in $1.4M. This weekend, the screen count increased to 99 and the film grossed $1.6M.

It will be interesting to see what kind of numbers the film pulls this weekend as the film goes into wide release. That being said, I plan on seeing the film this Saturday. Anyone who is interested in tagging alone, let me know!
