New Year Resolution

I have one major new year resolution this year… it’s to read more.  So, to get started, I am going to commit to 20 mins a day before bed.  So far, so good.  :)

My first book?  ME by Ricky Martin!

See the item on the left side bar… it’ll be updated with my current books.

I’ll keep you posted!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2011 everyone!

2010 is over and good riddance.  It was an interesting year full of challenges and changes, but I think I’m a better person after looking back on it these past few days.

I’ve now officially been in my new home for a year.  My condo is rented to a great tenant who pays on time and has given me no issues.  The flagstaff house had some great tenants as well but is currently empty.

Things have changed drastically at the new house.  I’ve got new furniture, setup all the rooms as they were intended and even had a backyard installed.  New appliances were purchased and installed and now I think I can finally relax about the house for a while.  There are still things I want to get done but they’ll take time to save up for and accomplish.

The dogs are doing great.  Beezus finally has gown up and is less of a crazy dog.  She also has become housebroken which is a HUGE relief.

We all survived 2010 and we’re stronger for it.  I say bring on 2011!  I have high hopes for 2011 and I wish all the best for you!

Angry Birds

I have a love hate relationship with this game. It’s so fun to play but it sucks time faster than anything else I know. If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you do. But be warned, you will become addicted.

New TV

I got a new TV this weekend because my DLP died… well, the color wheel died.  I felt that it was better to get a new set then put $300+ into a 5 year old one.  Anyway, I went with a Samsung LCD (55″) and it’s AMAZING.  The clarity of this TV blows my old DLP out of the water.  I had no idea what I was missing.  Also, there’s the mode that “smooths” the picture which makes it feel like the image has depth… almost 3D like.  It’s kind of funny looking on 1 hour dramas but sitcoms are great to watch in that mode… and so are sports.  All in all, I’m super excited about the new TV and I figure it was a good investment.

The Walking Dead

Okay, first, if you’re not watching this show, do it now!  It’s amazing.

Second, I cannot watch this show before going to bed any more or… when I know I’m going to be home alone for a while afterwards.  I was watching last week’s episode this morning and went to get ready for work after it was over.  Olive started randomly barking in the house and I got totally freaked out.  I seriously thought the zombies were at the door waiting for me to leave for work.  I know it sounds dumb but that’s just how good this show is.  Seriously… you have to watch it.

Interesting Walmart Pricing

I went to Walmart looking for some command strip picture hangers. They had them in value packs and standard packs. The value packs consisted of 8 pairs and the standard pack contained 4 pairs. The pricing for the standard pack is listed first and the value pack is listed second in the images attached. Good times!

It’s Been a Long Time!

Sorry for the no posts recently.  I guess I’ve just kind of become too busy to update this on a regular basis.  It also doesn’t help that I’ve been blocked from most everything at work as well.  I think I’m going to try and be more proactive at blogging but, like I’ve said many times before, I can make no promises.

Anyway, I am going to post a couple of pictures from my phone in my next post.  Interesting Walmart pricing. :)

T-Mobile & HSPA+

So, T-Mobile is rolling out HSPA+ to a ton of their customers.  If you’re unfamiliar with what HSPA+ is let me give you a short description.  It’s basically 3G.5.  It’s not technically 4G but the speeds can rival any 4G network out there, and T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network does just that.  In fact, when they release their G2 phone next month, it will be capable of downloads of up to 14.4 mbps.  That’s freaking blazing fast and no other wireless carrier has speeds that even come close to that.  All this being said, every android phone that T-Mobile has put out is capable of reaping the benefits of this faster 3G network.  My Samsung Vibrant will be able to get speeds up to 7.2 mpbs once the network is rolled out here in Phoenix.  Now, it’s not technically live here in PHX but let me give you some information that I’ve been seeing over the past few days.

At work – Full Bars – Download Speeds

Test1 – 4335
Test2 – 5210
Test3 – 5662
Test4 – 5014
Test5 – 5512

Average Download Speed is 5.146 mbps

At home, just 6 miles away, I’m averaging 1.7 mbps which is typical for 3G.  Hopefully this means that T-Mobile is close to turning on HPSA+ for the entire PHX metro area!  I’m so excited!

Bravo – Flipping Out

Just a quick post this morning. Flipping Out, I just realized, started this week on Bravo. I LOVE this show. It’s sort of a guilty pleasure. I would never want to work for Jeff Lewis but he is really good at what he does. The show is very entertaining to watch!
