My Weekly Update??

Why can’t I remember to blog more often? I’m kind of lazy about it. I’ve tried to make more of an effort. I think I’m worried that I won’t have anything interesting to say. Is it actually necessary to have something interesting to say on a personal blog site?

Ok, so here’s what’s up recently. This week of work was kind of hellish, many things happened. My boss put in his 2 weeks notice, totally unexpected. I had lots of small issues that came up during the week. It was kind of annoying and it made the week go by sort of slowly. Oh well, it’s over now and this upcoming week will probably be good. There will be a lot of people on vacation which means my life will be a bit less hectic. We have a going away event for my boss on Thursday, which should be interesting.

I’ve found myself watching less and less TV recently. I’m not sure why that is. Maybe it’s because most of the shows I watch are going into reruns for who knows how long. I’m also finding myself spending more time reading and doing things around the house that I would normally put off until the weekend. It’s a good thing, right?

This weekend, my cousin is in town. We’re doing the hang out thing and some shopping. A pretty relaxing weekend actually. It’s interesting how much you can miss talking and visiting with someone. I’ve been reflecting on that more recently. Maybe it has to do with the time of year? Everything that’s been going on the past few months of this year has definitely had an impact on me. I’ve started learning more about who Daniel is.

Ok, we’re done with all this. I will try, I swear, to be more of a constant blogger. Check out my picture blog though, it’s update more often and, like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Not The Major Post

Yeah, so I know I said I would do the major post by now… but I haven’t.  This weekend was SUPER busy.  I apologize to you all and promise to write something before the end of this week.  I seriously need to become better at this posting thing.

Oh, btw, I’m getting a new phone that will allow me to upload images to a blogger account… kind of like picture blogging remotely.  I’ll post the link to this picture blog on my ‘blog roll’ on the right once it is up and running.  I think it’ll be pretty cool.  We’ll have to wait and see.

I’ll post soon… promise!!

Long Time Coming…

So, I’m going to give a small update at this time.  I will spend some time this weekend to write something much more substantial.  This is just a small update to tide you over until then.

Life is crazy, as most of you know.  Things have been uber hectic for me lately both personally and professionally.  Hopefully things will become easier and more manageable in the near future.  I will elaborate more on this whole section later this weekend, but I think most of you know what I’ve been going through recently.

Anyway, I am going to get better at writing these things.  I think it’s a good way for me to get things off my chest and out there for people who are important to me to read.  Comments are always welcome.  Another update will be coming this weekend, keep your eyes open for that.

Exhausted!

Wow, this week at work was exhausting.  Was this a week of a full moon or something?  It just seemed that everything was out of whack.  Some customer issues came to a head that I didn’t expect while others just plain screwed up my day.  I have a list of items that I would like to start working on but have yet to begin due to all the fire fighting I’ve been doing.  Seriously, this last week was just crazy.

Fact: 3 out of 5 days this week I worked until 7pm.

Thank god it’s the weekend!!

On another note, I’m still using Windows Live Writer to write these blogs.  I can honestly say I actually enjoy using it.  The only feature that needs to be updated is the tagging of posts, especially for LiveJournal.  When I tag a post, I don’t want a listing of all posts in LJ that have the same tag… I only want mine!  FIX IT MSFT!!!

Creating Habits+

What is the rule of thumb when it comes to creating habits? Is it that you have to do the same thing for 2 weeks, consistently, and then it’s a habit? I think I read something about that somewhere a while back. Anyway, I have successfully trained myself to use the parking break every time in my car. Now it feels like I’m doing something wrong when I don’t. I need to create the same sort of habit when it comes to blogging. So far, I’m off to a great start! Let’s see if I can make a habit out of this… the test begins!

Ok, I didn’t want this post to be all about me just starting a new habit. So, here’s some very interesting reading for you people out there. It’s not long… but very informative. Pass it along to all your friends who believe Global Warming is good science and human induced!

Just a Quickie

I swear, I’ll be better at posting here in the near future. Why? Oh, that’s because I’ll have a shit load of free time on my hands given I have no $$. I seriously need to stop spending cash. I have no idea what’s wrong with me.

Anywho, that’s what I was going to post about… my serious lack of cash. Oh yeah, and just an FYI for all you TV Junkies out there like myself, Survivor starts on Thrusday (gonna be good!) and then The Amazing Race on the 18th! Woo hoo!! Can’t wait!!

Until later… and I will post later!

Disappointed and Such

Ok, so I’m disappointed that I have not received any feedback on my picture blog, but I will continue to post there in case some of you get joy from seeing the photographs.

Now the and such part…

For some odd reason it seems that I only post here when I have to vent, but there is good reason for that. People that I want to vent about do not know about this page and so I am free to express myself anyway that I wish, without fear of retribution/retaliation. I mean, in a perfect world, I would be able to do this to people’s faces, etc… but alas, this world is not perfect.

Ok, so this is one of my many friends posts. I have many issues with friends. I’m wondering if it’s me changing as a person or if it’s them changing… or both of us simultaneously… I’m not sure. Anyway, I’m afraid that I may be losing these people as friends, and to my knowledge, through no fault of my own. It just seems that we are not on the same train of thought lately. Everything one says to the other gets misread or misinterpreted and leads to retarded arguments… even if they are unstated arguments. Currently I’m dealing with one of these unstated deals. Anyway, not really going to go into background details about the event that started the whole thing but I will give you a cliffs notes version.

— Begin Conversation —

Me: “want to go out tonight?”
Them: “only if you can get person ‘a’ or person ‘b’ to come along.”
Me: “why, am I and person x not cool enough for you to hang out with?”
Them: “yup, you guys aren’t cool enough for me.” (i kid you not, this was not said with any sort of levity or sarcasm)
Me: “wow.”

— End Conversation —

Person ‘a’ ends up coming out at the last minute. I decide not to call this friend to let them know that person ‘a’ has joined our twosome group. I figure the invitation was given and if you don’t want to chill with two people I figure you consider your friends, then why should the situation change if person ‘a’ is there? Am I wrong? Was it a horrible thing for me to do? Should I have re-invited the friend? Ok, I do have to admit that this friend was called by a drunken member of the party during the evening in which the fact that person ‘a’ was present was let out of the bag. Sort of a shitty thing but what are you going to do. This led to the friend hanging up and a text message sent to my phone calling me an asshole to which i responded (i shouldn’t have) by calling said friend a jerk. So, read all this info, let me know your thoughts.

I’m currently taking a break from this person. I figure that’s the best thing at the moment. Oh, they aren’t going to change… I’m going to have to, I think…. it really does sadden me.

I have gotten feedback from a mutual friend that we both have in which they say the percentage of ‘giving’ to the relationship is 85% me 15% the other. Not really fair… and I’m not sure, but I think the fact that I’ve come to this realization is what is affecting (is that correct?) the current state of our friendship.

I’ve been told on multiple occasions by different people that I’m one of the most compromising friends they have and that I resist the most to last minute changes or to even doing things that I may not really want to do. Anyway, as you can see, I’m being troubled by this and advice/words of encouragement (or even criticisms) are welcome.

And one more “and such” comment….

I’m reading applications for this scholarship that I had when I went to university. These are all very worthy children that would greatly benefit from this money. I’m part of the selection committee and we will be holding our interviews on Thursday and Friday of this week. I was overwhelmed by the amount of work I saw in front of me but as the days grow closer, I am becoming very excited. I can’t wait to meet some of these people and to see if they are actually anything like what they look like on paper. That will definitely help me in my decision making.

Ok, this was a long post and I will make them shorter from now on. Please check out my picture blog. Look for pics from my hiking trip this upcoming weekend!!

Yo People!

Hey, I figure someone needs to post in their LiveJournal since it seems that no one is keeping up. What, are we all too busy to keep everyone else informed of what’s happening in our various lives?

Ok, so I guess I’m just as guilty.

So, I’ve started a different type of blog. It’s a picture blog. It will only be pictures and a small short comment if one is needed. You should check it out. I will definitely be posting there at least once a week if not more often! And!!! I will be taking requests. Meaning, if you are thinking… “hmmm, I’ve heard that this thing may exist in AZ, let me ask Dan if he’ll go and take a picture of it and post it on his blog.” So, unless I have to drive for many hours or the thing just doesn’t exist, I will try to get any requests fulfilled!

Anyway, check it out. I have 3 posts there already. Some of the photos are old but probably new to most of you. I guess it would kind of be like a Flickr account except I don’t have to upload every photo to GD flickr and there are no quotas. So, enjoy!!!

Leave comments, will ya!!

So, the other big issue I’m dealing with now is the whole immigration thing. I hope you all read my previous post. There is supposed to be a large country wide march on 4/10. I can’t wait to see what happens. I figure that they better hope they paid attention to how America reacted last time. There better be significantly less Mexican flags. Why would you think that Americans would think you want to be part of our great country by waving the flag of your native country? That makes no sense. Some activists have been equating it to the Irish flying Irish flags on St Patrick’s Day. It’s not the same. That’s one day a year and it’s to acknowledge their cultural heritage. Hey, guess what, Mexican Americans have one of those days too! It’s called Cinco De Drinko Mayo. So, keep your Mexican flags at home and show your pride in a country that has given more to you than you could have ever hoped to have received in the country you came from.

Interesting reading for anyone who is interested. These are the rights that Mexico affords to illegal immigrants and non native born Mexicans. This comes straight from the constitution of Mexico and is Mexican federal law. Can you say hypocrisy? Read It!
