Inside the Head of a TV Junkie

The image above shows the distance from my work to where Mike’s mom works.  Today we leave for Las Vegas and we have a situation.  The truck that Mike usually uses to get to my house is needed this weekend so he is unable to drive it over today.  A solution was figured out and it requires me to pick him up at his mom’s work before we head out of town.  Not a big deal at all, but I think it’s amusing how far away it looks in Google Maps.  I guess it looks far because it is door-to-door, it’s 30 miles.  :)

Mike and I will be heading to Las Vegas for a fun time this weekend.  I’ve always wanted to see KA and they have some attractive summer prices at the moment.  The plan is to hit the road on Friday at about 1pm so that we get to Vegas in plenty of time before the show.  I do enjoy going to Las Vegas.  I’m not really a gambler but I love people watching and the alcohol that is readily available around every corner.  Not sure exactly what else we’ll be doing while there.  I’ve been to Las Vegas so many times that it’s hard to think of new things to do.  It’s been over a year since I went last and things are always changing in Vegas.  I’m sure we’ll find something new to see!

Oh, for any of you who watch “Last Comic Standing” on NBC, you’ll recognize this phrase from a T-Shirt worn by one of the contestants. “What happens in Vegas… stays burned into God’s memory for all eternity.”

Partly due to the gifts given to me by [Mike] and partially of my own volition, I got down to business today after work and cleaned my home office desk. Below you will find the before and after photos. Now, the real test is how long will it stay this way?! I’m going to make a conscious effort to keep it looking as good as it does in the “after” photo below. We’ll see!

The song below came on iTunes this morning randomly. This has been happening a lot recently. A song will pop up and play in iTunes that just reminds me of so many things. It’s great and I love it.

I talk about my friends here every once in a while. Most of the time, it’s a vent about something dumb they’ve done and how I got stupidly sucked into their drama. This is another one of those types of posts, in a way.

I have this friend (Sylvia) who has been having the crappiest luck with guys. I’m not sure if it’s because she’s got too high of expectations or if it’s just her dumb luck. In all honesty, it seems to be a combination of both. She wants a stable, mature man that has all his shit together. Sounds like good criterion. Problem is, she only seems to find this in “older” men. Not a bad thing, really. These “older” men she finds are the type that are old on the outside. They have not progressed very far socially. It’s really kind of crappy and I feel bad for her.

Anyway, she had a shitty day after Christmas where presents were given and then taken away mere hours later. She was at home all day today alone. I decided to go over and keep her company. I brought dinner that was so generously made for me the night before by Mike (leftovers were killer). She drank wine and vented. It was good.

As Lucy’s sign would read, “The Doctor is IN.”

Not sure I can really call it a date tonight, but more like just a friendly meeting… but look what Yahoo! Astrology said!  (not that I put much in this, but it’s amusing).
