My Home

I just wanted to drop a quick note and say… I MOVE INTO MY NEW HOUSE IN LESS THAN 8 DAYS!!

Yes, that’s right folks, I will become a home owner by the middle of next week! It’s so exciting but I’m not looking forward to the moving.

Anyway, I need to get back to work but I’ll post more later.

Beer Review

Heineken Light = nasty after taste. I had heard it was bad from some people but I was able to taste it for myself last night. No, it’s not good. Whoever decided to make a light Heineken should be fired.

“The Best Thing to Happen Since Beer.” I think not!

Gas

Gas prices are on the rise! It’s getting a bit ridiculous! $2.99 is the current price here in good old Phx, AZ. They say it’ll only go higher and that we may not get any relief until after October! AHHHH! I’ll just have to suck it up and get by.

Anyway, it’s now September and the new season is starting. What season? TV Season! Can’t wait! I will update my thoughts on all the new shows and on some of my returning favorites!

I do recommend that everyone watch Prison Break on Fox. The show looks like it’s a winner!

Coyotes!

In case you guys didn’t check my other site…

The Coyotes have been pissing me off because they charged me a price for season tickets that was not correct. Originally, right after the lockout, it was the correct price. But, once they decided to lower the prices, I was called and told that I would be getting a discount. Long story short, I have been playing phone tag with the Coyotes for the past few months trying to get my refund!

(ok, the long story will not be short)

After talking to voice mail boxes all last week, I finally wised up and called the main Coyotes number. I asked the very nice secretary to please let me speak to someone who was in the office that could answer my questions regarding my season ticket order. I was put on hold for about 5 mins (thought she was going to transfer me to a vm box again) and surprisingly, she came back on and said, “I’m transferring you to Anthony now, please hold.” To my surprise, a real person answered!! So I kindly asked this guy to check out my account and see if there was anything wrong with it. Almost instantaneously he recognized that I had not received my refund! He said, “Mr. Almaraz, I don’t see the refund that should be on this account. This is troubling because you’ve had this account since the end of July. Let me go ahead and run this credit through for you right now.” Wow! Such service after weeks and hours of frustration! I hardly expected to see the refund within the week but come Saturday night, there it was, sitting on my account when I checked on-line! Amazing!

Now all I’m waiting for is my tickets to arrive. For some ODD reason they are printing them up in Canada and they will be shipped from there via UPS. Keeping my fingers crossed that they arrive before the beginning of the season in October. You know how lazy those Canadians can be!!! ;o)

Driving Home

So I was driving home last night, on the I-10 (took the long way home, I just felt like I needed to drive). As I got closer to my exit, the mileage sign for how far Los Angeles is from Phoenix showed up and kind of caught me off guard. At that very instant I thought to myself how awesome it would be to just not have any cares or responsibilities in this world… how it would be so awesome to just keep on driving those 358 miles… skip my exit and just keep on going. Oh man, it was the weirdest feeling… but it was also a really cool feeling. Sadly, those days of unplanned trips are gone. No more spontaneity for me, at least nothing too big, like going to a different state.

Anyway, I just had to share this with everyone… now it’s time for bed.

Working…

I’m working but I wanted to post this real quick.

First of all, I want everyone to no longer buy HP products, I can’t stand the company and your boycott would be greatly appreciated.

Second, I have a second interview tomorrow at 3pm at Head. Keeping my fingers crossed and I could use all your ‘get the job’ vibes!

Third, read this interesting story about the infighting at Disney… jesus. Why didn’t I get out of that stock ages ago?!?! Disney Story

That’s all for now. Visit my home webpage sometime in the next two days to see a new picture!

Tsingtao

Ah, well I’m sitting here drinking a Tsingtao, a beer made in the PRC (People’s Republic of China). Let me just say that it’s pretty good. I wasn’t too excited about it, but I must say that I’m pleasantly surprised.

I have some Kirin Ichiban (not sure if it’s spelled like that) to drink. That’s some good beer!

Anyway, that’s all for now. I just wanted to inform you of these two new (to me) beers. I highly recommend you go out and find some to try.

Later.

Two Quickies

First: I bought a house. It’s being built, I have no idea when move in will be, hoping Sept. Now people can come and visit me!!

Second: I just found out today that the soda machines at work (which we only pay $.50 for a soda) have the new 20oz Pepsi’s with the free music from iTunes. That means that we’re getting a song at iTunes for $.50 which is a $.49 savings. Needless to say, I’ll be purchasing a lot of Pepsi in the next few weeks.

More info to come. I swear I’ll try to be better at this whole blog thing. I should just write a quick update every day when I get home from work.
