New, Old Chairs
The chairs below belonged to my great grandmother on my mom’s side. My grandmother brought them to Arizona from Pennsylvania in the 50s when they moved and they’ve been sitting in their house ever since. Well, now that my grandmother is no longer with us and my grandfather is getting older, my mom is trying to clear out their house to make things easier when he passes away. My mom has been looking for someone to take the parlor set off her hands since there are so many pieces and she asked me if I was interested in having a couple. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to keep them in the family (I think my mom was just going to give them to Goodwill!) so I took two of them. My mom had them reupholstered and I think the restoration came out really well. They are currently sitting in my living room. I’m not sure if that’s where they’ll stay or if they’ll find a home in the library or guest bedroom. They don’t really “go” with any of my current decor but that’s not always a bad thing. Anyone have any thoughts?
March – 12 of 12 – Vegas Baby!
Here are my 12 of 12 photos for March. We went to Las Vegas for my cousin’s birthday. Needless to say, these photos could have been insane but I was more interested in drinking than photo taking. Oh well! Here they are…

Mike took this excellent photo as we were slowly heading towards Hoover Dam. 1.5 hours just to get to the checkpoint. Yuck.
Once they finish up this bridge, the trip to Vegas will be speedy!

We went to IKEA and bought the shorter dresser to compliment the taller one. They fit perfectly in the master.

I was at home waiting for something (I can’t recall at the moment) so I decided to check on the funds left in my Starbucks card. Empty.
I decided to have lunch at Johnny Rockets before getting back to the office. It was good! I still have yet to go to the Yogurtland next door though.
There’s my 12 of 12 for January 2010. Very house centric but I think it was a pretty good set. Hopefully you’ll see some amazing changes by the 12 of 12 for February.

New House Photos
I had my house inspected on Saturday. Glad to report that there isn’t anything major wrong with the house that would keep me from going through with the deal. Below are some photos I took of the place on Saturday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the loan process goes through quickly so I can get moved in!
This is the neighborhood (the part that is finished at least. At the end of this street, the city of Phoenix is putting in a park. How nice.

Here’s how my Monday went down for this months 12 of 12.
I’m trying out a new way to style my hair. I’m not sold on it yet.
My Monday is surprisingly light, but who schedules meetings during lunch!?
I had to do some shopping for the new dog coming on Saturday.
It was a beautiful fall day in Phoenix. You really should come visit.
The shopping continued. Only wholesome food for man’s best friend.
Olive in her new collar. I don’t like it. She’s getting a new, new one.
Heading up to north central Phoenix to help a friend build IKEA furniture. The is our most scenic highway in the city.

What I do when I’m bored at work. I love my iGoogle page. Amazingly enough, I can read my Gmail from this page and it’s not blocked.
We had some milage issues with a customer and I had to write down what the actual miles were. Exciting.
The green items are houses I’m going to look at tomorrow. I think it’s time for an upgrade.

After work, the temperature is still pretty nice. I can’t complain when we’re normally in the low 100s.
I had to stop on my way home to get some essentials for this weekend’s baking experiment.

My attached neighbor is having their house auctioned off. I feel bad but at the same time, I’m happy. Does that make me evil? (Read some of my posts tagged with “neighbor(s)” to find out more)
I’m trying to catch up with “The Fashion Show” on Bravo.
I had to help my mom with her PC through Remote Assistance tonight. Thank goodness I have two monitors so I can multitask.

12 Of 12 – May 2009
Well, I am in Flagstaff, AZ this entire week getting my house ready for the new renters (yes! we got it rented!!). My 12th of May was spent running around town getting items and working in the back yard before my sister and her husband showed up later in the afternoon to help out. Here’s how my day went.
My sleeping arrangements for the week – full size at least!
The house was painted yesterday! It’s so clean and fresh looking!
Today was going to be another day of busting my hump in the small back yard.
I had to run to the bank to close an account and transfer money.
Home Depot to pay for the carpet that is going to be installed this week.
This rose bush was the bane of my existence today. It really didn’t want to come out.
My sister arrived and we went to the nursery to buy plants! This is a lemon smelling creeping thyme plant.
This vinca is growing in the front, we’re moving a huge chunk of it to the back.

I was starving so we had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. It. Was. Good.
My sister chilling after a hard day of work! You can vaguely see her husband chilling outside on the back steps. It was a busy day for all.

Even though I was not at work, I still found it difficult to get 12 pictures. I think it was mostly because I was concerned with getting to where I needed to be at whatever time I needed to be there. I had a list and I needed to stick to it. I was able to get everything done that I wanted to on Tuesday and my luck has followed me into Wednesday. This house has been weighing on me lately and getting it ready to rent (finally) will really put me at ease. I’ll post pictures of the back yard after the full day we put into it on Wednesday soon. You won’t believe your eyes!
