Calvin Harris – Flashback

Stephen Gately

On Saturday, Stephen Gately of Irish boy band Boyzone passed away from natural causes in Majorca, Spain. Stephen made big news in 1999 when he came out as gay to the British tabloid The Sun. He was a pioneer in that sense and possibly paved the way for others in the business to feel more comfortable with the idea of coming out. His coming out helped to dispel the idea that being out could ruin your career in the music business. I admire him for his courage.

Boyzone was recently making a comeback after splitting up so members could pursue solo careers.
I was never a huge fan of this group but I do have a few of their songs in my iTunes collection.

I’ve Got a Feeling

Many students, one shot.  Kind of cool.

New Adele Video

Adele simply rocks. Here’s her latest single - Hometown Glory.

Kid British

Lily Allen tweeted a link to this YouTube music video.  I kind of like it, especially the way they worked in Madness’ “Our House”, which is a classic!

Here’s the video for “Our House” by Madness

Bea Arthur – TV Tunes

I used to watch Maude on TV Land during the summers. Not sure if they still play it these days or not but it was hilarious.

Then, of course, is The Golden Girls. I’m sure we’ll be seeing marathons of this show popping up over the next few days. A little known fact about Mike -- he’s seen every episode of this series.

Romeo and Juliet

I was at The Turf in downtown Phoenix this past Friday night and this song came on over the speakers. My friend Erin said that it was one of her favorite songs. After listening to it that night and again on YouTube, I have to agree. It’s a great song. Take a listen.
